Because Christ Lives: The Resurrection Changes Everything (Pt. 1)

Aug 24, 2025    Kurt Aichele

What is your life really built on—sand or rock? In this message we walk through 1 Corinthians 15:12–34 and Jesus’ parable of the two builders to see why the resurrection of Jesus secures our faith. Paul shows the wreckage of a world without resurrection (empty, false, futile, hopeless) and then pivots to the hope-filled reality: “But in fact Christ has been raised.” Because He lives, our faith is anchored in truth, our future is guaranteed, our sacrifices matter, and we’re called to live awake, holy lives.

Big Idea:

Because Christ lives, the resurrection secures our faith—now and forever.

Key Movements:

• If Christ has not been raised… faith is empty, false, futile, hopeless (vv. 12–19)

• But in fact Christ has been raised—firstfruits and victory (vv. 20–28)

• Why this changes how we live: baptism, suffering, purpose (vv. 29–32)

• Why this calls us to holiness and mission (vv. 33–34)
